This choreographic work, created for Noverre, features five dancers (three men and two women). The group sequences evoke interwoven forms that resemble a chain, an image inspired by the reliefs and sculptures depicting the damned souls in Dante’s Inferno. The choreography is deeply influenced by the plasticity of Dante’s visions, particularly images such as the three-headed dog and the damned souls, half-human and half-tree. These references have been woven into certain significant moments of the piece, adding a metaphorical and visceral dimension to the choreography.

The music that opens and closes the ballet creates a dense and mysterious atmosphere, emphasizing the emotional intensity of the work. The dancers’ costumes are adorned with strips of mirrors on their backs, symbolizing the soul of each individual and their personal journey. These mirrors not only reflect light but also, at times, merge with shadow, revealing the more hidden nuances of human existence, evoking the duality of light and darkness, salvation and damnation.
